Example of a useful report

On the NYC paycheck calculator for tax year 2026, I entered $3,000 biweekly, Single, no W-4 adjustments, 0 NY allowances and no benefit deductions. The calculator showed $___ for NYC withholding, but my expected amount is $___ based on [official source/calculation].

That is much easier to investigate than “Your calculator is wrong.”

Please do not send sensitive personal information

Do not include: Social Security number; Individual Taxpayer Identification Number; bank account or card details; passwords; login credentials; full tax returns; unredacted W-2s; unredacted pay stubs; passport or driver’s-license images; employee ID numbers; medical records.

A calculator problem should normally be reproducible from the relevant numbers and settings without identifying you. If a screenshot is genuinely useful, redact unnecessary names, account numbers, addresses, employee IDs and other personal information before sending it.

Factual or source corrections

If you believe a tax/payroll statement is outdated or unsupported, please include the page URL, the sentence/table/calculator item concerned, the source you believe should be used, and the relevant tax year/effective date. We prioritize official sources such as the IRS, Social Security Administration, New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and New York Workers’ Compensation Board for changing tax/payroll facts. Our correction standards are described in the Editorial Policy.

General feedback and feature suggestions

You can also contact us about wording that is difficult to understand, a calculator field that needs a better explanation, mobile/keyboard usability, accessibility, a missing New York paycheck scenario, or an idea for improving an existing tool. A suggestion does not automatically mean a new page or calculator will be created — the site is intentionally focused on New York employee take-home pay, and new features are evaluated against that scope.

What we cannot provide through the contact form

New York Paycheck Calculator is an informational calculator project, not a tax, payroll or law firm. The contact form is not intended for requests such as “How should I file my personal tax return?”, “Which filing status should I legally use?”, “Am I legally a New York/NYC/Yonkers resident?”, “Can my employer legally deduct this amount in my specific case?”, “How do I structure compensation to minimize tax?” or “What should I enter on my tax forms for my personal situation?”

We may publish general educational explanations, but we cannot provide personalized professional advice through the contact form. For decisions with meaningful financial or legal consequences, use the relevant official agency, your employer/payroll department, tax software or a qualified professional. See the Disclaimer for the site-use boundary.

Before reporting a paycheck mismatch

A difference between our result and your real pay stub does not always mean either calculation is wrong. Check whether the inputs match: pay frequency, gross taxable wages, Form W-4, Form IT-2104, NYC/Yonkers status, pre-tax benefits, post-tax deductions, YTD Social Security/Medicare wages, YTD PFL contribution, bonus/supplemental-pay method, and employer rounding or approved withholding method. Small cent-level differences can result from payroll-table and rounding methods. The Methodology page explains those differences in more detail.
